MiniCamCap (also known as Mini Cam Cap) lets you monitor and record the activity produced in front of your webcam. It has automatic face movement detection; that means it only starts recording when there is a change of the person it is looking at.
MiniCamCap also lets you take screenshots (in JPG) from the webcam that can be automatically sent via email. It has utilities to compress the resulting video to make it as small as it can.
Some of the other MiniCamCap options include recording with or without sound, programming it to work only for a period of time, working with multiple webcams, etc.
